In collaboration with the School of Engineering, BME Division is the hosting unit of the Bioengineering Graduate Program (BIEN).

MPhil/PhD Bioengineering programs are committed to educate graduate engineers who can bring a systematic and quantitative approach to the study of biological systems; and who have the necessary knowledge to contribute to the biomedical industry, to optimize existing bioprocesses and develop new biotechnologies. This new program will allow students to apply the tools of engineering, computer science, and physical sciences to their study of biological processes. HKUST is well position to develop an interdisciplinary Bioengineering graduate program unique to Hong Kong.
